Krakhead #1 – Felix Baillet

Here is the first episode of our new serie called ‘Krakhead’ – A zoom on one of our active member who post regularly some good footy on the app.

Meet Félix Baillet from Lyon, he’s been a part of the Krak app experience since the beginning. He regularly post really nice spots and also some rad footy! All the footage were taken from his Krak account (except for Aurélien’s hammer on La Defense Double Set).

We’ve always been huge fans of the éS Menikmati video. Some of us are coming from Lyon too and always loved Fred Mortagne’s work so the intro acts as a tribute to your work French Fred! Thanks for everything & long live skateboarding!

Krak Users – Interviews #1

We have so many rad skateboarders throwing photos and clips up everyday in the Krak app and we wanted to get to know them a little more through a little interview. These interviews were first published in the print Krak Mag #1 which came with KrakBox #1.
The

Robin Fournier ♦

robinmag
How old are you?
I’m 16.
Where are you from?
I’m from Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France.
When and how did you start skateboarding?
At 11, I moved to a little city named Vitrolles. There was a tiny skatepark in my new neighborhood, like, 200m away from my new house. It was time for me to start and I never stopped since!
What’s your favorite trick?
I would say Treflip.
Who’s your favorite skater?
Definitely Shane O’Neil! He’s so fluid, so smooth…
What’s your favorite spot you ever skated?
MACBA, Barcelona.
And what’s the skate spot you never skated but dream about?
Any of the big US spots I see everytime I watch a vid…
What’s your favorite thing in skateboarding?
Riding with friends, this is basically the best thing in skateboarding.
And what do you hate the most in skateboarding ?
Scooters in skateparks, France’s full of that. Oh, and these guys who buy a board to sit on it… I don’t get it.
How did you first hear about Krak and the App ?
I discovered Krak on Instagram, via a friend’s like or something like that.
While talking about Instagram, what’s yours?
@robknowskate
Alright Robin, any shoutouts?
Thanks mom, thanks skateboarding.

Robin rides for himself but for Organic Clothing too.

Joseph Garbaccio ♦

josephmag
How old are you?
I just turned 17.
Where are you from?
I’m from Le Havre, France.
When and how did you start skateboarding?
I think I really started when I was 8. My brother was skateboarding since quite a long time so one day I decided to try. Now it’s been 10 years on my board and I don’t plan to stop.
What’s your favorite trick?
I wouldn’t say I have a favorite trick… I like doing hardflip, does it count?
Who’s your favorite skater?
Probably Curren Caples. He’s versatile. Man can rip bowl and park as well as the dirtiest street spot. I really like his style though.
Is there a spot that you never skated but dream about?
I never went to Barcelona but it seems to be the perfect place to skate.
What’s your favorite thing in skateboarding?
Traveling with a sponsor or for a contest. There’s always a crazy atmosphere, you meet new people and above all, you discover new spots!
What do you hate the most in skateboarding?
The trendy aspect of it. Like, people buying boards but not being interested in the culture… It’s pointless to me.
How did you first hear about Krak and the App ?
Some friends already were on the app, I liked the idea so I joined!
Any other social account other than our app where people can see more of you?
Check me on Insta.
Shoutouts?
Everyone who supports me and my sponsors: Jart Skateboards, DC shoes, GoPro, Stance, New Era, XSories, Industrees, Sport maximum.

How old are you?
19.
Where are you from?
I’m from Big Bear California, but I’m now living in Rancho Cucamonga California.
When and how did you start skateboarding?
I started skating when I was 9. I got inspired by growing up watching my neighbors do it all the time. And the steez they put into their tricks, man, I had to try.
What’s your favorite trick?
Casper flip and melon.
Who’s your favorite skater?
Definitely Wes Kremer. Because he has the indefinite steez. Also Chris Haslam just because he’s the rawest dude out there even in his age and day.
Do you have any favorite skate spot?
It’s a local secret spot out here in California called Badlands.
And what is the spot you never skated but dream about?
I’d love to travel to the east coast and skate any spots out there, really.
What’s your favorite thing in skateboarding?
What I love the most about skateboarding is how individualistic it is and how no skater is the same yet it brings every culture together.
The thing you hate the most in skateboarding?
I don’t really like how mainstream culture is slowly changing what skateboarding is about and represents.
How did you first hear about Krak and the app?
I heard about Krak when you guys contacted me right after I did the fifteen boards!
That 15 decks ollie… How many tries did you need to land it?
It took me first try!
Damn. Do you have any social account so we won’t miss your next epic stuff?
Yeah sure, you can find me on the Krak app, just search my name. I’m on Instagram too: @jeremiah_belledin
Do you film longer vids  or just short clips from time to time? Any part on the internet?
Not really filming for a part, just stacking clips with the homies for the little daily edits we throw together.
Alright Jemeriah, any shoutouts?

Pintodd crew

You may have noticed them in the app: The Pintodd crew is one of the most famous crew and keeps exciting us with their vids and pics. Based in Lyon (France) often rippin’ HDV (understand here« Hotel de Ville » iconic spot) they are hungry enough to krak the world.

“Yo les chicken dips! Can you explain the name of your crew.

Felix : so we were just some friends hangin out together some times to hit the streets. During one of these sesh, we just tripped on the word “pintade” that means “guinea fowl” in french. The following evening, I proposed them to create a team, a crew, and we choose the name “Pintodd” cause it sounds like “pintade”, but is a bit different. The double ‘d’ at the end is much better, it sounds better. So in fact, we are the ‘GuineaFowl Crew‘ haha!

“Who are you, where did you met?

Enzo : first, we are French, we are ‘lyonnais’ (from Lyon). We’re skateboarders who just skate and laugh out loud. We all met in HdV (hotel de ville) and progressively we’ve been skating together.

“Do you have a motto? Something core to Pintodd crew?

‘Fuck da police!’ haha

Who’s the most funny in the crew?

Tibo: I guess the most funny is Harry, cause he’s always doing shit, talking shit.

IMG_2125
(translation “My new GoPro”)

– The most talented?

David: ME
Harry: No it’s me!
Aurelien: Shut up guyz, you all know I am the best! Haha
Enzo: There is no real comparison between us, and that’s true: we all know the best is Aurelien. He progresses so fast that’s incredible.

– The most fucked-up?

Felix: Harry

-The chicks addict?

Haha make your own idea

tibo enzo

“Any favorite spot in Lyon (after HDV of course)?

David: We often skate in X-Rousse or in Confluence.

“Any annecdote about a skate sesh?

Aurelien: We have always funny bails but we remember this sesh in a lil park in Lyon (Blandan): skate friends and sun was the perfect combo, we don’t need anything else!

IMG_1596

(translation: “Max doesn’t like cheap lemonade”)

“Do you have sponsors?

Tibo: except Aurélien, none of us have sponsors, but some are doing the best to search one. Video coming soon 😉

“Where can we find ya?

KRAK OF COURSE and also in HdV ! Enjoy your day, go hit the streets and FUCK DA POLICE!

Inspiration: Hugo B.

Tell us about yourself. About Treepod.

Hugo Bernatas, I’m 23 and I’m studying filmmaking in Lyon. I create on my own many and varied video projects (music clips, skateboarding videos, institutionnal movies, live,…). Tree Prod is a collective which permits to join together artists, but most of all, friends, in order to help each others and work on a common project.

How did you start filming/editing videos?

I started filming when I had my first DV camera. I started by filming my friends skateboarding. The year after that, I made some video clips to tell about each day of the festival “Rockomotives”. This is really when I started working for myself, and began to developp new projects.

Who inspired you the most?

My inspiration for skatebording videos is Jason Hernandez, the director of the Nike SB’s videos. But I’m also inspired by a lot of artists on Vimeo. They really make the best videos! And sometimes, simply walking down the street can inspire me…

Any funny behind-the-scenes story?

Not really! But I can’t count all the skateboards which ended on my camera lens…

What has been your favorite thing about using Krak?

It’s great to find some spots, and it’s really helpfull when I’m looking for a new place to film which isn’t ten miles away!

Any useful shooting tips for our Homies?

Try to find original angles but more important, enjoy yourself

What are you up to (your projects or wish)?

This month, I’m going to make a video part for Arkaïc Skateboard, and in January, I’ll probably realize a music video in London, but I can’t say more for now !

Thanks Hugo, best of luck in your projects and keep pushin’

Virgile (Paris, France)

Let me introduce you this guy, he’s our Krak homies in Paris.

What’s up Virgile?

Everything great thanks! Just back from a sesh in the north of paris at EGP, of course you can check it on the Krak app.

EGP north paris

Can you introduce yourself please.

I’m Virgile, I’m 24 years old, I’m from Lyon, France. I now live in Paris but I had the chance to live and skate in Montreal and Buenos Aires, which was awesome! On my spare time I write on Vida Skate a blog about local skate scenes and skate news in general. To finish, of course, I’m a Krak addict ;).

What do you do for a living?

I work at M6, one of the big local TV channel, I am in charge of a new Youtube channels launch. Our latest project is an acoustic cover channel called Cover Garden, here is the link if you want to check it out.

Why did you decide to join The Krak Homies?

When the Krak team first contacted me about a year ago, I thought the project was really cool and offered to get involved. So, when they offered me to be part of the Krak Homies I was really stoked and didn’t over think it, I said yes.

Your availability to hang out and skate?

Since I am working, I skate mostly at night and on the week ends of course. I’d definitely be happy to meet homies to skate and hang out.

Any favorite spot?

In Lyon, I’ve spent countless hours at Hotel de Ville, the spot is legendary where I had the chance to watch Cliché pros filming parts. In Paris, my favorite spot is Fougères skatepark at the East of Paris, cool locals and great curves, definitely recommend it (the spot is on the Krak app). In Buenos Aires, I really love the Converse skate plaza, it’s hard to get there but once you are there it’s like California in South America.

Favorite skater?

Not very original but I am a huge fan of Eric Koston! The guy is a living legend.

Video part?

The Guy Mariano part in Pretty Sweet!

Anecdote about your worst session ever?

In Buenos Aires I remember going for an 1h30 bus drive to go to a skatepark and break my board on the second trick no skateshop around…That really sucked.

Foodporn: Baguette Cheese Saucisson or Burger?

Baguette, Cheese and Saucisson of course!

Tony Hawk Pro Skater or SKATE ?

Skate is cool but all the good memories go which Tony Hawk Pro Skater of course.

Thanks Bro!
